Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Tonawanda

Priority: Small Groups and Technology

Purpose:  Provide diversified and transformative small group experiences that will provide platform and competencies for welcome and outreach.   

Method:  Assign a coordinator, train facilitators and pilot an initial number of small group experiences.  Evaluate resources and spaces and grow small groups.   

Summer 2012 - Small Groups at St. Francis of Assisi, Tonawanda - You Were Created for This!!

Catholicism - by Rev. Robert Barrons eleven sessions throughout the summer (www.wordonfire.org).

Taking a Closer Look at my Faith (dvd) with Rob Bell series for young adults and adults – six Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9pm beginning June 13th.

Forgotten God  by Francis Chan - a book club for adults – eight Tuesdays beginning June 19th from 7:30-9pm in the “101” room ($12 for the book)

Crazy Love by Francis Chan – a young adult book club – time and dates TBD

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - a 7th & 8th grade book club on nine Tuesdays from 11-12:30 and beginning on July 3rd

Tales of the Kingdom  by David & Karen Mains a 5th & 6th grade Book Club on eight Tuesdays from 7-8:30pm beginning June 26th on Fr Mike’s back porch

RCIA – Older children who need to “catch up” on their sacraments – Selected Sundays before the 11am mass (9:30-11)

Daily Mass “Gang” for 3rd & 4th graders - meets Tuesday mornings at 8:30 for mass, goodies and sharing time til 10am.  Runs July 3rd – Aug 28th …come when you can!

Daily Mass “Troupe” for youth in high school - meets Wednesdays at noon for mass, light lunch and community until 1:30pm.  Runs July 4th – Aug 29th.

Daily Mass “Company” for adults – meets Thursday mornings at 8:30 mass and gather afterward til 10:30 to participate in “Catholicism” DVD series – 11 Sessions running from June 14th – August 23rd.

Daily Mass “Partnership” for Parents with small children – newborn – grade 2 – meets on Fridays at 12 noon for mass, munchies & coffee or tea, and fellowship with prayer afterward until 1:30.

24 Hour Prayer Experience 3pm – 3pm on July 15-16 or 20-21
