Engaged couples use various communication exercises focusing on such areas as dynamics of effective communication, intimacy, marital roadblocks, natural family planning and sacramental commitment. For the Married
Jubiliarians: Annual diocesan recognition for couples celebrating their 50th, 60th, 70th or more years of marriage is generally observed in the fall season of the year. Celebration includes Mass and reception to follow. Families are welcome to attend with honorees. Mass is signed for persons who are hearing impaired. Accessible seating is provided for persons with disabilities. Please contact your local parish for information.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekends offer a couple opportunities to deepen one’s love relationship with each other and God, as well as revitalizing one’s marriage using a technique of loving communication. The weekend is free from every day distractions and tensions. Spouses concentrate on each other. The weekend is designed for couples who want to make their marriage stronger. Catholic Women Discussion Program -formerly known as the Bishop's Committee Discussion Program, is open to persons of all faith traditions. It is a discussion group that meets once a month from October – May. Meetings are facilitated by trained leaders and each meeting centers on a topic of a spiritual nature. This encourages personal growth; offers support; strengthens one’s faith and fosters the sharing of ideas and feelings all from a Catholic/Christian perspective. DivorceLINK: A peer ministry specifically for and to those separated/divorced – open to all persons of any faith tradition. It is during this difficult time we offer persons time to deal with grief, recover from turmoil and loss; rebuild their life again through the LEVELS program, open forum RAP support groups, various workshops, family activities and spiritual and social events. PARENTING PACKET III: Death and grief are inescapable. This packet is designed for parents who feel ill-prepared to discuss death with a child. This resource covers the range of children's responses to grief from 3 years old and younger through the teen years. Very practical tools and life-giving suggestions are included not only to provide for a child but the adult who is also grieving the same loss. Grief is an entire family experience.
