Parish Outreach - Connect, Welcome and Engage
The Good News is that people are just as receptive to God and open to the invitation of faith as ever. The bad news is that in the new religious landscape we can no longer presume that people will find us. Jesus was responsive. Jesus reached out to people He lived life large. Jesus connected with people. He welcomed people. He engaged people in God's mission on earth. Can we do the same?
Outreach is often overwhelming to Catholics because it is misunderstood. Outreach can be as simple as connecting, welcoming and engaging people in the life and mission of Jesus Christ. In order to succeed in outreach we have to be ready to respond to the religious and spiritual needs of people just as Jesus did.
